"You look at this boar, and you can see- no, he's not wounded, he doesn't have a thorn in him or anything, he's just a prick!"

-Derry's explanation of Tuskgutter's violence

Boars are among the more aggressive wild animals native to the Stolen Lands, but none are as notorious as Old Tuskgutter, a grizzled monster who vexed and avoided hunters for years. It was only a matter of time before a Wanted poster requesting the beast's head was put up in Oleg's Trading Post... and only a matter of time before some adventurers took the job.

Description[]

Tuskgutter was a comparatively large and hulking boar, easily identifiable by the grey bristles on his face. His long life was likely attributed to his violent lifestyle, which saw him actively attacking travelers in the area rather than doing so out of self-defense.

Personality[]

Tuskgutter was markedly vicious, even by boar standards. He did not have a particular reason to be as violent as he was, yet by the limited intellect he demonstrated, it seems he was fully aware of his own violent ways. Derry went out of his way to emphasize that this particular boar was an asshole on multiple occasions.

Abilities[]

Tuskgutter was particularly physically strong, having been able to best most hunters who sought him out over the years. As a boar, his main strengths were his sharp tusks which gave him his name. He was also known to be able to use a powerful charge which helped him overcome usual obstacles to his own speed.

History[]

Tuskgutter plagued the Greenbelt and the Narlmarches for a decade, killing and maiming many who traveled through the area. One of those ill-affected was old, retired Vekkel Benzen, a hunter with a particularly thick accent who lost his leg to the monster pig in 4709 AR. Vekkel put up a poster in Oleg's Trading Post advertising a prize for whoever brought him Tuskgutter's head. The Kingmakers stumbled upon the pig while exploring the Narlmarches, and while Kaska Tanavin attempted to soothe the beast, these efforts proved almost lethal to her. Ultimately, the creature was slain and its head brought back to Vekkel, who rewarded the Kingmakers with a +1 Longbow (which Kaska used for quite some time) and a plate of head cheese made from Tuskgutter's brains. Gross!
